I figured out there's a U.S. Holiday for each of the Seven Deadly Sins. Some are a little of a stretch, and most require using the modern meanings and symbolisms.
Valentine's Day = lust (pretty obvious why)
St. Patrick's Day = envy ("green with envy")
Independence Day = pride (obvious)
Labor Day = sloth (where the nation celebrates work by taking the day off)
Halloween = wrath (demons, devils, and monsters don't strike me as the sensitive, good-natured types)
Thanksgiving = gluttony (again- obvious)
Christmas = greed (you really think kids get excited about December 25th 'cause it's Christ's BDay?)
