A Retrospective (5/18/8)

As I find myself reaching the end of another year, I cannot help but look back at the past 366 days (it's a leap year, remember). Memories flash and certain clips bubble randomly to the surface: first kisses, a volcano of toads, wondering if I'm so drunk that I just hallucinated what she said, the ding-dong of my new front doorbell, losing of a good friend, the sharp whack as my head hits a car window while my shoulder tears, the long January which caused my mind to exceed critical mass and implode (figuratively), the most important call I have ever received on any Christmas (literally), a knife-welding psycho stalker woman with fantastic breasts and more meds than I have, succumbing to the eventual onset of diabetes, fallen trees, being there when I was needed, the paralyzed look of Cliff shotgunning from Michelle (technically outside the past year, but close enough plus it was damn funny), the most beautiful wedding I've ever been to, and about a million and one of a happy dog.

All in all, it's been a year of change. Different job, different home, different rules, and a somewhat different me- both the exterior and a bit of the inside too. Same old, same old as far as the barren wasteland that is my love life. Some things never do change :)
