The World View

You've heard of the Super Powers (used to be the USA, Soviet Union, and China, then the Soviet Union dropped out and with the current economy- does the USA still count?) and 3rd World countries (for which, I believe, the simplest definition is any country where the drinking water gives you a disease).
My question is: what is the order of the listings?

Logically- if there are 3rd World countries, there must be a minimum of 1st World and 2nd World countries as well. Are the Super Powers the 1st World, or does it go Super Powers then 1st World then 2nd World then 3rd World? And is there anything below 3rd World? If so, how far down does it go? Are there 11th World countries? How bad would those have to be? Or maybe the next step down from 3rd World is "Complete Shithole" countries.

I apologize. I've been cleaning for several hours now and I think the fumes might be getting to me.

Third World is a categorical label used to describe states that are considered to be underdeveloped in terms of their economy or level of industrialization, globalization, standard of living, health, education or other criteria for 'advancements'. The term "Third World" was coined by Jawaharlal Nehru to refer to those countries that maintained their independence, allying themselves neither with the West (the "First World"), nor with the Communist states within the Soviet Union's sphere of influence or those countries that had centrally-planned economies (the "Second World").
