Day Three- What The Hell's A 'Buckeye'?

Columbus, Ohio is big on 3 things- Jesus, Ohio State, and cold.

Jesus:
If the J-Man ever decides to make a return appearance and does so in America, I think he'd choose Columbus. Churches everywhere.
My favorite "wow" was driving up I-71 and seeing a church with a lighthouse in front of it sporting "Jesus is Lord" and a mannequin hanging from the lamphouse.

Ohio State:
Think the Kings in Sacramento only with more fervent fans. The college itself reminds me UT in that it's exactly in the center of the city.

Cold:
The high while I was here hit 47. The low was 17.
But honestly, the sun was so strong I didn't notice. Today I was in slacks and a t-shirt. Women were walking around downtown in mini-skirts.
Due to the relatively low temperatures, there was plenty of snow left from last week.
It's all perspective, I guess. I know 1 friend who spent years in Kent, OH and all she does is bitch about the cold. And lack of veg-head foods.

There was a fitness convention in downtown today. That explained all the steroided chicks I saw in the airport when I arrived. Watching some of the guys walk was amusing- so bulked-up they couldn't move their legs individually; they had to walk with their entire body.

I like this town.
The houses are all older Germantown style. And they're affordable. Affordable as in under $100K for 2,000sq.ft homes- ones NOT in the ghetto.
Plenty of cool shops for me (thrift, antique, comics, used book stores, etc), little dives to eat at, and less idiotic rules than CA (anyone follow last week's Official Ban on Cursing?).
I spent all of today just driving around and stopping at some shops. There's an entire city (yes- a CITY) in Ohio called Easton that is 1 HUGE shopping center. Think of 12 Roseville Gallerias and their surrounding shops- that kind of big. There was an On The Border there, so at least I can get my salsa if I relocate.

Got to wrap this up, flight's leaving in a couple hours.
As far as relocating, I'm 80% there already.
